Courtyard and Staircase

'Wind Sculpture VI' is a further examination of Yinka Shonibare RA’s long concern with Dutch wax batik fabrics and their identification as an ‘African’ material. It captures the moment that the wind passes through the material, making the corners billow outwards. Former RA Schools student and 2013 Turner Prize finalist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye is one of the most celebrated painters of her generation. She has developed a unique approach to portraiture that delves deep into the human psyche, yet the works are conjured entirely from her imagination.
