Small Weston Room

This year, two artists’ films are being shown in the Small Weston Room. In The Invisible Voice, Danish RA Schools graduate Julie Born Schwartz draws on her experience working as a theatre prompter. As fleeting impressions, layered images and half-obscured forms float across an empty stage, voices describe this dying art. In Sarah Pucill’s Phantom Rhapsody, a stage magician, director and actor conjure up Velázquez’s Rokeby Venus, Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and Bronzino’s An Allegory of Venus and Cupid, before making them disappear in a puff of theatrical spectacle.
