Room: Gallery III

Gallery III

Gallery III is the largest room in the Summer Exhibition, and this year Stephen Farthing RA has taken the opportunity to explore his fascination of how different artists use colour in their work.

As you enter from Gallery II the scene slowly unfolds. The vivid colours of Sir Michael Craig-Martin RA and the late John Wragg RA sweep into Anselm Kieger’s dominating and macabre Vier Plus Eins, then fade into the monochrome of Mick Moon RA and the turbulent hues of Frederick Cuming RA’s landscapes, before ending with the calming, large-scale Lost Boat Party by Jock McFadyen RA.
